Quiet Listening
A pensive figure. A golden tree. Past and present held in a single, watchful composition.
The sculpture concept
A conversation across the rooftop
“When you walk into a castle more than any other building, you think of your ancestors, and you quietly listen to stories of a different time.”
Artist Orla de Brí returned to the tree growing inside the ruined castle when the Wilsons acquired it. Nature had reclaimed the building for a time; its restoration was creating a modern history. From that tension came a three-metre dark-green bronze figure facing a five-metre bronze tree finished in 24-carat gold leaf.
The tree’s roots and reaching branches connect past with new beginnings. The figure is held in contemplation: human with nature, present with past.

The contemplative human figure, patinated a rich dark green.
The bronze tree, its surface carrying 24-carat gold leaf.
